Specify the task, input format, expected output and constraints before choosing a tool. A viewer, a simulation engine, a statistical package and a laboratory control system have very different responsibilities.

Use a simple example to test whether the tool actually addresses the question. Do not infer a capability from a name or a screenshot.

Check the underlying method, assumptions, supported units, numerical limits and documentation. For scientific results, retain the software version and settings so another person can understand what produced the output.

A visually plausible result can still be wrong. Compare against a known example, a benchmark or an independently checked calculation.

Understand whether data leave your device, where they are processed and what the vendor permits. Research data, participant records and confidential designs may have restrictions beyond ordinary software terms.

Check maintenance, export formats and support before depending on a tool. SCIENCIBLE does not certify external software simply by discussing its category.
