Define the integration before the interface
Describe the user, the task and the data that would need to move between systems. State whether you need read-only retrieval, authenticated actions or a way to publish content.
Avoid designing against private website behavior that may change. A route used by the app is not automatically a licensed or supported developer interface.
Specify data and permission boundaries
Identify who owns the information, whose consent is required and whether it contains personal or confidential material. Request the minimum data needed for the task.
Credentials belong in a secure server-side environment, not a public repository, browser bundle or support message. An integration proposal should use examples without real secrets or private records.
Plan for errors and changes
A production integration needs versioning, rate limits, timeouts, retries appropriate to the service, logging and clear failure states. It must not substitute invented data when a source is unavailable.
Ask about support, data retention and permitted uses before depending on an interface. Availability of the website does not imply an uptime commitment for external automation.
Submit a technical brief
Include the problem, expected workflow, data fields, estimated usage pattern and the constraints of your system. Explain how you would validate correctness and handle unavailable data.
